Description: On August 20th, 2021, STARZ Television held a virtual press junket hosted by the Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association (MMCA) during the National Association of Black Journalist (NABJ) Virtual Convention, In advance of the September 26 premiere of the network’s highly-anticipated new series BMF (Black Mafia Family).
“BMF” was executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (co-creator of the “Power” Universe, “For Life”), alongside showrunner, executive producer, writer and Detroit native Randy Huggins (“Star,” “Rebel,” “Power”). Tasha Smith (“Empire,” “Power,” Why Did I Get Married?) directed multiple episodes and serves as an executive producer. Terri Kopp, Anthony Wilson and Anne Clements also serve as executive producers on the series. “BMF” is produced through Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television in association with Lionsgate Television for STARZ.

Challenge: ElevateX™ Agency was hired by the MMCA to manage the custom branded graphic design aesthetic for the event. We were also responsible for all social media marketing, email marketing, website landing page development, digital registration, and the overall digital production for the entire event.
Our Solution: The ElevateX™ team graphic designed all of the marketing collateral, flyers, social media promotional cards, and drove public relations promotion with the help of the Elevate Dayton editorial team for the event. We also developed and pushed out branded Mailchimp email marketing campaigns promoting the event to the MMCA’s 6,000+ email subscribers. We also managed the promotion of the event through strategic social media marketing campaigns across MMCA, STARZ, and NABJ’s Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
